Chatroom
By Hideo Nakata
Based on the play 'Chatroom' by Enda Walsh

This movie may be triggering for people recovering from self-harm and depression and that should be mentioned because that's what this movie is about.
It's a great movie for people who like to hang around on the internet and talk to strangers because it shows what can happen or how mean some people can be online.
What I liked most about this movie is that William tricks others to do bad things to themselves, I like evil people because they always have a story. In this film, you see each of the teens their story in real life and online and how they change.
The only weird thing in the movie is that William knows how all the other people in the chatroom look like and in the end, they suddenly are together which was really confusing. But besides that it's a great movie.
I love how you dig deeper in the characters personality and life just by seeing their own room. It's like you get to know them completely which gives you more sympathy when something bad happens.
The thing that makes this movie special is that it's constructive. They start as random online people who just chat and talk about their lives and people they hate and the movie builds that friendship up towards a point where they either save each other from the darkness or break the other into pieces. That's a real story and it's quite realistic because they start at the very bottom.
